TORONTO - Computer Advocacy announced the wide availability of Perimeter911, an Internet monitoring and alert service. The service brings Internet & intranet monitoring technologies together with central station alarm monitoring technologies

It is designed to act as a sentry that constantly asks whether an organization's email, Web site and other software are running as they should.

It also checks for attacks and monitors systems to see if Web pages are being hacked, if an organization's DNS has been compromised or if a company's domain name has been hijacked.

The system can monitor a service listening on a TCP/IP address and port, speak its protocol and determine if it's responding as it should. The system will send alerts when any of those facilities is not responding properly.

It can alert cellphones or pagers for $25/month. However, Perimeter911 prides itself on an interesting wrinkle. It also works in conjunction with Securitech, a central station service bureau. Hidden away in an underground vault, Securitech alarm panels are attached to devices that link up to Perimeter911.
